I have always loved pizza. There are so many different types of pizza including everything from the almost unlawful vegetarian pizza to the protein-packed meat lover's pizza, from crunchy thin crust pizza to fluffy pan pizza, and from Alfredo Cheese to no cheese at all.
Pizza is extremely widespread throughout America and is one of the most popular foods. Pizza has its Italian roots as everyone knows, from the "Pizza Margherita" made famous by Raffaele Esposito of Naples as he cooked a pizza fit for a queen, Queen Margherita to be specific, but it also goes back even longer. The Persian army ate a sort of round bread that they cooked on their shields (awesome), and topped with oils and spices. Tomatoes were not added until later when the Europeans came to America.
Pizza basically keeps me alive like the shields kept the soldiers alive. If not for pizza, I might have starved to death years ago, staring at foods that seemed disgusting (apparently I'm a picky eater). I first discovered the Totino's pizza one day when my mother brought home about twenty of them because there was a sale and they were cheaper than Digiorno. I quickly fell in love with the food that was also quickly made. I could make one of the scrumptious tiny pizzas in ten or twenty minutes and enjoy it while I watched TV. The flavors that were shown to me that day have stuck with me, and will more than likely always stick with me. I hope they do. I think I have eaten one almost every day since then and I regret nothing. I may not diverge much from my patterns, but I know how to appreciate a good frozen pizza.
