The Eagle and its Majesty
In the U.S., eagles are the symbol of the nation's freedom and power and are generally viewed as amazing or awesome. Ironically, however, the only place I have ever seen an eagle is at a zoo in a cage with almost no freedom at all. Eagles do not really serve a purpose in the every day life of Americans; we cannot eat them or use them for hunting or pets as there are several laws protecting them. The only thing eagles are good for, in my opinion, is for watching. So why do Americans think eagles are so great? I believe that it is because Americans think Americans are awesome. The eagle as the national bird of America then becomes just as AWESOME.
